In terms of volume, consumption will increase from 826,500 metric tons to 1.1 million metric tons over the same period, a growth rate of 5.9% annually. The difference between value and volume growth underscores a major industry shift: advanced nonwoven materials are being engineered to deliver higher performance at lower basis weights.

"The nonwoven filter media industry is evolving beyond volume production to smarter, more efficient solutions," said a Smithers expert. "Innovations in nonwoven media engineering allow manufacturers to meet demanding filtration performance requirements across sectors like HVAC filtrationautomotive filtrationhealthcare nonwovens, and liquid filtration—all while using less material."
